A couple who has spent eight years trying for a baby has asked for donations to fund IVF treatment
Joanna Kimble and Ryan Treleaven, Gravesend, in Kent, were devastated to discover they were unable to conceive naturally after a number of tests.
The pair have had four unsuccessful rounds of IVF since then and hope that this next round will make their dream of becoming parents a reality.
The couple is due to marry on August 20 at a low-key ceremony but rather than wedding gifts, the pair hope to be given enough donations to fund a round of IVF with a new clinic.
Joanna said: “There is nothing we want more than a family. It means a lot more to us than gifts.
“We have tried four times over the past few years. It takes a lot out of you, it is quite an emotional process.
“Every time we have been told it is going to work and it has not.”
Could chromosomal testing help the pair become parents?
Through the disappointment, the couple is still hopeful and with a new clinic, they will try new treatments to become parents.
One of those treatments is testing the embryo for any chromosomal abnormalities at a cost of about £3,500 additionally to the IVF cycle cost.
Joanna said: “With the NHS it is base treatment, they do not offer anything extra.
“With four failed cycles so far, we have been in touch with a new clinic which has given us more guidance, we just don’t have the finances to do it ourselves.
“Any donations will be greatly appreciated and help us on our journey to hopefully one day become parents.”
