Popular Australian reality television star Jackie Gillies and her drummer husband, Ben, have welcomed twins via IVF after eight rounds of treatment
The couple announced their delight to their social media followers after the birth on October 17, 2021.
Jackie documented her IVF journey on the hit television show, Real Housewives of Melbourne, telling her fellow castmates she was currently on her eighth round of fertility treatment with Ben, who drums with the band, Silverchair.
The 41-year-old celebrity psychic said: “They’re here. OMG, they are so cute. My heart is full.”
She did not reveal their gender or names but said she will give more details in her next podcast.
Jackie has said she felt it was important to document her IVF journey, sharing she had experienced a heartbreaking miscarriage five months previously.
She said of her decision to talk about their fertility journey on the show to Joel Creasey: “One of the biggest reasons I decided to come back for this season was because I felt that I needed to be open about IVF and my journey.
“I’ve done so many psychic readings over the past 17 years where women have felt ashamed of doing IVF, and I felt I needed to come back and open up that conversation and not allow it to be a stigma.
“A lot of women that have done IVF haven’t even told their parents or siblings because they’re ashamed of being judged or not being able to fall pregnant naturally.
“I know how it feels to go through IVF and those emotions, and I decided I needed to share everything including the miscarriage, and the ups and downs of IVF because it’s not an easy journey.”
