UK singer Rita Ora had revealed that freezing her eggs was one of the best decisions she has ever made
The 31-year-old, originally from Kosovo, was talking to the Irish Independent journalist about her fertility journey.
She froze her eggs at 24 and again at 27 – the perfect age for the best quality eggs, experts say.
She said: “I’d love to have a nice big family. In Kosovan culture, it is important to have children. I think as women, we put pressure on ourselves, subconsciously, because we feel like it is our duty – to create and give life.
“So, I just wanted to not worry about it. And I didn’t after, and it was the best thing I ever did.”
The Let You Love Me singer previously told Australian media that she was advised to freeze her eggs by her doctor when she was in her early 20s.
She said: “My doctor said ‘you’re the healthiest now and I think it would be great, why don’t you put them away now and you’ll never have to worry about it again?”
She said she just “wanted to be really safe” and that she was a “big believer in using what we have and making the most of it”.
