Choosing a fertility clinic can be an overwhelming part of an iVF journey. Sometimes the knee jerk reaction is to sign up straight away to the one closest to you, but before committing, it is so important to consider several factors in addition to location, such as cost, success rates, treatments offered and patient care
To see how others do it, we turned to Arina Rogozina, the COO of Redia IVF. Her company offers patients who are about to embark on IVF, 100% IVF refund schemes. The way it works, is that you pay for three rounds of IVF in advance of your treatment, and if after three rounds of IVF you do not have a live birth, you get a 100% refund.
We spoke to Arina about how Redia decide which clinics to work with and what makes a clinic a “trusted and successful” clinic.
When you are choosing which clinics to partner with, what are you looking for?
At Redia IVF, we assume the entire financial risk; it is the principal reason we need to guarantee the success of the treatment. This moves us to select only the best providers of assisted reproduction treatments.
When choosing the IVF clinics, we look for their success rates, laboratory quality, the medical and embryologists’ teams experience, the technology and technics they use, and patient care protocols.
Do you ensure that every clinic you work with is trusted, safe and authorised by a governing body? How do you find this out?
We initially make sure that the clinic is registered and authorised by the country’s relevant fertility authority. Before signing an agreement, we ask that the clinic has a valid insurance policy. In addition, we carefully monitor the clinics’ safety protocols and their patient care process.
Do you look at success rates when choosing who to work with? Are these success rates available for patients to look at too? Where can one find them?
Success rates are essential information for patients looking for the best clinic. But what do we consider a success? An implantation rate, a positive pregnancy test, heartbeat, 12-week pregnancy or birth?
Not all countries have legislation that demands fertility clinics to report and verify data on the assisted reproductive technology (ART) cycles carried out and the outcomes of these cycles.
Generally, we ask the centres for live birth rates because our refund schemes are current until a baby birth. But the reality is that not all clinics can provide this information.
We may share this information with patients and connect them with clinics for more details.
Aside from a certificate to show that the clinic is authorised and trusted, quality labs, brilliant doctors, and good success rates, what do you think is the key to making a patient feel like they have chosen the right clinic?
The Patient Experience is an integral component of health care quality, and it contributes to success. Better coordination and clearer communication are undoubtedly indispensable. At Redia IVF, we care about patients’ needs and health, and we require the same from the IVF centres that offer our refund guarantee programmes.
How many clinics across the world do you work with?
Our portfolio of clinics is broad. For example, in Europe, we offer our programs in IVF clinics in Spain, Czechia, Greece, Cyprus, and Ukraine. Outside of Europe, we have agreements with clinics in India, South Africa, Mexico, Nicaragua, etc.
Furthermore, we are approaching new markets to provide maximum coverage to patients and clinics worldwide. We will be sharing this information shortly.
