In studies, numerous health benefits of consuming beetroot have been identified such as: helping to lower blood pressure, improve brain function and memory along with improving circulation and blood flow – this is important in relation to fertility as good blood flow to the reproductive organs is crucial. Beetroot is also a very good source of non- haem iron.
Spinach is a great source of non-haem iron too and in addition provides a good amount of vitamin e, along with folate, vitamin c and beta carotene.
Ginger is also rich in iron and gives juices a great ‘kick’ but also to help alleviate gastrointestinal issues. Additionally, it plays a role in reducing inflammation in the body, supports the immune system, rejuvenates skin and increases energy levels. It also contains anti- microbial properties. Ginger contains many other important nutrients and vitamins including vitamin C, B5 and B6, along with a good amount of the mineral’s potassium, manganese, copper, and magnesium.
Apples- although not a great source of iron, however along with the lemon are fantastic sources of vitamin C- which helps in the effective absorption of iron.
