CNN news anchor Anderson Cooper has welcomed a second son via surrogate
Anderson co-parents with his ex-boyfriend Benjamin Maisani and they already have a son, 22-month-old Wyatt born in April 2020.
Their second child, Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper, was born in February 2022, and Anderson announced his arrival on his primetime television show, which he later posted on Instagram.
He said in the clip that Sebastian weighed 6llbs 8ozs and ‘mostly eats and sleeps’ and his occasional hiccups were ‘just adorable.
He said: “He already seems like a wise and thoughtful little chap.
“Wyatt calls me daddy and Benjamin Papa. We are a family, and Benjamin is also in the process of adopting Wyatt and he will take his last name to become Maisani-Cooper.
“We want to thank the amazing doctors and nurses that helped bring Sebastian into the world and most of all thank the surrogate that carried Sebastian and gave birth to him. The sacrifice her entire family made and the love that they gave Sebastian this past year was extraordinary.
“We will never forget their kindness of her and her family and all surrogates that help bring new life and new love into the world.”
The 54-year-old explained his parents and brother had passed away but he felt their love in his new family.
“The family that I was born into may no longer be around but I feel their love in our new family.”
