High street store Superdrug has launched a series of fertility blood tests through its online doctor service with the aim of helping women access information about fertility and have informed options when it comes to their reproductive health
Superdrug’s new Fertility Service comprises a Superdrug Online Doctor consultation and personalised fertility test recommendations to give women better insight into their fertility and help them make more informed decisions.
The company said, depending on the outcome of the consultation, it may be appropriate to then take one of the five new fertility blood tests that are being launched as part of the service.
The initial consultation requires customers to fill out a quick online questionnaire. This is then reviewed by Superdrug’s team of online doctors, who will work with the patients to identify which fertility tests are best suited to the individual.
The new service also sees Superdrug introduce three new fertility blood tests to its portfolio, ensuring greater choice and accessibility.
Dr Sara Kayat, Superdrug’s medical ambassador said: “For women that have been trying to get pregnant and not succeeding, or for those who are just curious about their fertility, easy access to blood tests may help provide answers and signpost them in the right direction.”
Head of Healthcare Services at Superdrug, Caris Newson, agreed and said the company is passionate about helping people.
She said: “At Superdrug, we are passionate about helping people make the right health choices for them and fertility is no different.
“We want to make it as convenient as possible for people to get professional advice and support when it comes to their fertility.
“Our new service will allow women to take control of their health and have a better, more informed understanding of their fertility.”
The company will offer an Anti-Mullerin Hormone test, progesterone test, AMH and progesterone tests, pituitary profile test, and a test for polycystic ovary syndrome.
The price of the tests ranges from £39.99 to £76.99, and the initial consultation will cost £5.
