Sardines, much like salmon, are an excellent source omega-3 fatty acids. They are also a great source of calcium, vitamin D, and protein and so are a great addition to your fertility diet. Why not make this tasty dip and enjoy it smeared on a piece of sourdough or enjoy it with friends with plenty of crudites.
Sardine dip (makes 4 portions)
100g can of sardines in oil, drained
150 g cream cheese
1 small red onion, finely sliced
2 cloves garlic, crushed
Pinch of turmeric
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Pinch of salt and freshly ground pepper
Handful of fresh parsley chopped
How to make your dip:
Place the drained sardines into a bowl. Remove any bones and mash them using a fork. Add the cream cheese, onion, garlic, turmeric and parsley. Mix well until smooth. Add the lemon juice as well as salt and pepper to taste and mix it until incorporated. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and serve it with crudites or some sourdough. Enjoy!
