Capital Radio FM breakfast presenter Roman Kemp has revealed he is keen to have children and decided to have fertility tests to make sure everything was in working order
The 29-year-old appeared on ITV’s Loose Women Men’s Special which aired in May 2022, alongside television presenter Vernon Kay, Strictly Come Dancing’s Johannes Radebe, and former rugby player, Mike Tindall as part of Mental Health Awareness Week.
He told the panel that he was keen to be a dad. He said: “I want more than anything to be a dad. I have felt for the past five years, I’ve kind of felt myself approaching 30 and thinking ‘I really hope that I can have kids’.
“So much so that I have had fertility tests. I am very fortunate to say that I can have kids as a result of the fertility test.”
When he discussed the sperm count test with his friends, he was shocked at how many of his friends wanted to have the same test.
The men also discussed their biological clocks and how sperm count had declined so much since the 1950s.
He told the panel that men should worry about their biological clocks.
He said: “Talking about biological clocks is something I worry about, being somebody who is yet to be a dad. It’s what I want.”
Roman is the son of Spandau Ballet founding member Martin Kemp and singer Shirlie Holliman and they are famously close.
He has long been an advocate for men’s mental health after losing his friend and radio colleague Joe Lyons to suicide in 2020.
