Passionfruit are loaded with fertility-friendly nutrients including beta carotene, vitamin c, various important b vitamins and the minerals potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, and iron.
Peaches are also full to the brim with nutrients that are great for the body pre-conception and beyond – including beta carotene, vitamin c, selenium, potassium and magnesium.
Raspberries -are fantastic as they are a low GL (Glycaemic load) fruit- helping to stabilise blood sugar levels. They have been linked to protecting sperm from oxidative stress. They also contain magnesium, which is involved in the production of testosterone. Raspberries are a good source of folate too- important in helping to prevent neural tube defects in the developing foetus.
What you need to make your knickerbocker glory: (makes 1)
2 tbsp granola (your choice)
Handful of raspberries
2 tbsp of runny honey
2 scoops of raspberry sorbet
2 passionfruit (flesh and seeds scooped out)
1 peach or nectarine sliced
2 scoops of frozen natural yoghurt
How to make it:
Layer the ingredients in the order given above in a sundae glass. Save a teaspoon of the passion fruit to sprinkle on the top. Enjoy!
