US actress and Broadway star Laura Benanti has revealed she and her husband, Patrick Brown, have welcomed their second child via surrogate
The 42-year-old told her 158,000 Instagram followers that they were ecstatic to welcome the baby girl, Louisa Georgia, but it had been a long road to get to it.
She said: “On July 9 at 2:43 am we were blessed with the arrival of our second daughter.
“Like many, the journey towards growing our family has had many challenges.
“However, our journey has also been marked by the privilege of pursuing different paths to grow our family. Specifically, our remarkable surrogate (an angel-on-earth) who carried our precious girl and delivered her into our arms; an other-worldly generosity of spirit, body, and kindness that can never be repaid.
The five-times Tony-nominated actress got engaged to Patrick in early 2015 and married later that year. The couple had their first daughter, Ella in 2017.
The couple was inundated with messages of support after posting the cute images of baby Louisa and Ella, and the post garnered more than 24,000 likes.
