Looking for a new snack idea? Why not try your hand at making this delicious cabbage dip and serving it with crudites like carrots, cucumber, or chopped apples.
Cabbage is an extremely nutritious and fertility-friendly food. Low in calories and high in dietary fibre, vitamin E, vitamin C, vitamin K, folate, beta carotene, calcium, and iron – all of which are beneficial to health and fertility. The other ingredients in this dip are also excellent fertility foods.
Homemade Cabbage Dip
Ingredients: (Makes 1 bowl)
1/2 cabbage
1/2 cucumber
2 cloves of garlic (crushed)
1 shallot (chopped finely)
2 lemons (juiced)
½ handful of fresh chives chopped
80ml olive oil
2 walnuts
3 fresh basil leaves
Pinch of sea salt and black pepper
Method
Slice very finely the cabbage, cucumber and chives finely and place it into a bowl. Place into blender the shallots, garlic, chives, basil, olive oil, lemon juice, and walnuts (along with a pinch of salt and pepper )and blend together. Tip the cabbage, cucumber and chives into the blender and blend until at desired consistency (you may need a splash of water). Enjoy with crudites as a snack or a party dip.
