But anyway, back to Jo the actress…
Jo Joyner, widely recognized for her role as Tanya Branning in EastEnders, continues to expand her impressive acting portfolio with her upcoming appearance in the Channel 5 series The Wives. In this new mystery drama set in Malta, she stars as Beth Morgan alongside Tamzin Outhwaite and Angela Griffin, who play Sylvie and Natasha Morgan, respectively. The plot centers around the three women dealing with the aftermath of family member Annabelle Morgan’s death, which brings to light buried secrets and shatters their lives.
Beyond her acting career, Jo shares her life with her husband, Neil Madden, a drama teacher with acting credits in shows like The Bill, Lewis, Holby City, and Silent Witness. The couple met when Jo was 25, married in 2007, and now live near Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire with their twins, Freddie and Edie, born in 2009 through IVF after a challenging fertility journey.
Jo has been open about her struggles with conceiving and the joy of welcoming her twins. She shared that she is working on a book chronicling her experiences with IVF and parenting, inspired by the journals she kept during that time. Her ongoing work and candidness about personal challenges add depth to her public persona, making her both a talented actress and a relatable figure for many.
